Interesting story. I was in Myer in Sydney in 2018 when I first smelled this fragrance. Even though the price was $180 for 100ml (even back then!) I had to have it because it smelled VERY similar to Chanel Egoiste - one of my favourite colognes that had been discontinued years earlier. I still have some of the original Costume National left in the bottle, and I can tell you that Palermo have nailed it with their version - and for about a third of the price! I am loving Palermo more and more..!
