My main intention was to find Diptyque's Philosykos, but it is not available, so I got Byredo's Pulp instead. The first note is what convinced me to buy it, sour, but balanced with some sweetness. However, as it dries down, the fig note becomes much more apparent and sour, which in my opinion, becomes harder to wear because of the lack of sweetness. I think the notes that I liked from Philosykos is more about fig leaf, rather than fig, I don't recall it being this sour. I'm not sure what the real Byredo's Pulp smells like, but ultimately, it was my choice to get it instead of what I was trying to find.
I know in Palermo's discovery, it's listed under men's perfume, but I can only imagine a woman wearing this; someone who is VERY very powerful, mysterious and wise.
The scent lasts insanely long. Even with just one spray and layered with 2 other scents, at the end of the day, I could only smell Byredo's Pulp. However, I would say, it is not an easy scent to layer, but if successful, it adds a lot of depth.
Overall, I hope this scent will grow on me, but for now, it is not quite what I was looking for. I am a female university student, so I don't think I will wear this to class. Maybe for formal events, but definitely layered with other scents.
